Stone Cairn Design

   

My main reasons for choosing this shape is for its strength in its exposed location and the roughness of the local stone. I think the shape would also have great presence from a distance. 
The stone disk that is the inscription stone also gives additional strength to the structure, the pointed cap stone could also be carved with imagery (perhaps of fish or music notes?) or just left rough.  


Below are a few pictures of a smaller fatter cairn I built with a few friends at Electric Picnic a few years ago that incorporated some timber seats. It also had a carved cap stone.
